As someone with a whole-home backup system that sees multiple power outages a year, I make a habit of unplugging devices to save energy. I unplug anything from smart plugs and lamps to air purifiers and robot vacuums that don't need to be used during a power outage, and I keep my home running with only 330Wh to 600Wh to extend the life of my backup battery.
