Using AI to fight insurance claim denials


Sick of the lengthy process of battling insurance denials to get companies to pay for her medical care, Holden Karau decided to fight back like an engineer: She built an AI program to automate the process.

A recent study found that Affordable Care Act patients appeal only about 0.1% of rejected claims, and she hopes her platform will encourage more people to fight back.
