There are plans for the ship to have space for 2,000 passengers and around 650 passenger vehicles.
"The [Helios] concept proves that large-scale emission-free shipping is no longer a utopia, but the world's largest fully electric passenger vehicle ferries could be in service as early as the beginning of the next decade. The company noted its past efforts in lowering emissions, including its ship Viking Grace, which became the first ferry in the world powered by liquified natural gas and biofuel. Last year it was reported that Viking Line was the country's top public corporate funding recipient, after being granted more than 20 million euros in 2023.
