Waymo’s robotaxis are now available to everyone in Los Angeles
There will still be wait times, just no waitlist.
Looking back, it took Waymo less than a year to open the service up to everyone after first launching its waitlist for select customers in Los Angeles. Of course, Waymo is now in direct competition with human-powered transportation services like Uber and Lyft, both of which operate without any pesky geographic restrictions. In a city as reliant on private autos as Los Angeles, it remains to be seen how useful Angelinos will find Waymo without being able to travel on the highway.
