Wisconsin lawmakers are set to vote on legislation to require a disclosure when campaign communications feature content generated by AI.

Lawmakers in the Wisconsin Assembly are poised to vote Thursday on legislation that would require a disclosure when campaign communications feature content generated by artificial intelligence. The elections commission is working “with our state and federal partners, including the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, to ensure the WEC adopts best practices for how to address the threat that AI may pose,” he added in a statement to Wisconsin Watch. The Wisconsin Supreme Court is deciding whether to adopt maps submitted by six groups, but a consultant’s report recommended that two be rejected because they politically favor Republicans.
