WhatsApp may let you pick which third-party chat apps can talk to it

The latest WhatsApp beta gives us a sneak peek of how it'll handle chats from other apps.

The newest WhatsApp beta for Android(version 2.24.6.2) introduces a feature to handle third-party chat app connections, as spotted by WABetaInfo. WhatsApp's engineering director, Dick Brouwer, shared details last month on how it would work, suggesting that users will have the option to turn off third-party chats. Now, it looks like the Meta-owned platform won't just give users the power to toggle the feature on or off but will also allow them to pick and choose which apps they want to link up with.
