WhatsApp launched a new feature on Friday, where users can include brief music clips in their Status updates, reminiscent of the Myspace era. The launch of music clips follows parent company Meta introducing similar capabilities to Instagram, where users can add songs to profiles, Notes, and posts. WhatsApp’s feature is similar, but with a key difference: music shared on Status is end-to-end encrypted, meaning only friends can see the songs.
