In his groundbreaking paper, he provided a model to explain why eusociality was pretty much only seen in species of the order Hymenoptera which includes bees, wasps and ants. With such high relatedness between sisters (3/4 > 1/2), it actually makes more sense to use your mother as a'sister-producing factory' to maximise the genes that you pass on as a female bee.
