Windows 7 boots slower if you set a solid background color

Updates Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 to fix a 30 second delay during the Windows logon process after you set a solid color as the desktop background.

Microsoft knowledge base article 2409711 describes a similar issue in which a 30-second delay occurs when you log on to a computer after you configure the "Hide all icons on Desktop" Group Policy and the "Normal Wallpaper" Group Policy in Windows 7 or in Windows Server 2008 R2. GDR service branches contain only those fixes that are widely released to address widespread, critical issues. Click Start, type regedit in the Search programs and files box, and then press ENTER.
