The downsides of such “cancellations done in the name of maintaining moral purity” — which in earlier epochs targeted Marie Curie (affair with a married man) and Alan Turing (gay) — were eloquently explained in a recent article, “The peril of politicizing science”, by the chemist AnnaKrylov.
