World’s largest offshore wind farm to add capacity to power 6 mn homes | Dogger Bank Wind farm will power six million homes at its peak and is further adding capacity before it is even complete.
The Dogger Bank Wind Farm with a power generation capacity of 3.6 GW could add another 2 GW when Phase D becomes operational.
As countries worldwide look for cleaner methods to meet their energy demand, renewable power sources such as wind and solar are being adopted aggressively. Due to its power generation capacity, Dogger Bank Phase D is classified as a Nationally Significant Infrastructure Project (NSIP) and requires an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) before proceeding. “We look forward to receiving a Scoping Opinion from the Planning Inspectorate and input from consultees which will help inform our development proposals,” Cussons added.
