xAI could soon have its own app
The move would put Grok and ChatGPT head-to-head.
Now, The Wall Street Journal reports, xAI is planning to launch an app as soon as December that could go head-to-head with OpenAI’s ChatGPT as it races to scale up. Citing unnamed sources, the Journal reports that xAI is also behind customer support features for Starlink, part of Musk’s other company, SpaceX. OpenAI’s ChatGPT, Google’s Gemini, and Anthropic’s Claude already have their own apps and free products, making Grok an outlier among other chatbots.
