YouTube is testing a leaderboard to show off top live stream fans

Want to flex as a top fan? YouTube's new leaderboard ranks the 50 most hype viewers in any livestream.

It pops up during certain streams and gives shoutouts to the most active viewers, turning chat participation into a bit of a competition. Per YouTube’s announcement, it’ll highlight the top 50 most engaged viewers on a channel, giving regulars the spotlight they deserve (via Android Authority). Google is presently trialing this leaderboard feature with a limited pool of users, making it unlikely that you’ll encounter it at this stage.
