YouTube rolls out labeling for ‘realistic’ AI content


YouTube has rolled out a tool to help differentiate between AI-generated content and human-generated. This will occur in the coming weeks.

In the Creator Studio, people should now disclose to viewers when realistic content is made with altered or synthetic media, including generative AI. “In some cases, YouTube may add a label even when a creator hasn’t disclosed it, especially if the altered or synthetic content has the potential to confuse or mislead people.” Heading straight into a regional newsroom, after graduating with a BA (Hons) degree in Journalism, Sophie started by working for Reach PLC.
